Issaquah Highlands, WA October 11, 2013

By mid-November, Eastside residents and visitors to The Grand Ridge Plaza – Issaquah Highlands will have a noteworthy contemporary dining option for affordable, healthy, authentic Pan-Pacific Rim food and specialty cocktails, when Chinoise Sushi Bar & Asian Grill Issaquah Highlands opens.

Chef Thoa Nguyen, a pioneer in West Coast Pan-Pacific Rim cuisine, opened her first area restaurant Chinoise Sushi Bar & Asian Grill in 1996,
going on to open and operate additional restaurants since then. (The Islander, Thoa’s, multiple Chinoise locations and Wabi-Sabi Sushi Bar & Restaurant.)

“At Grand Ridge Plaza we join 17 newly opened retail stores and restaurants (with more to come), that didn’t exist last year at this time. The Issaquah Highlands Urban Village is a pedestrian and bike friendly place that is family friendly and invites interaction. Our Chinoise location here, is next to the Regal Stadium 12 RPX® & IMAX® Theater, explains Chef Thoa, we are very much looking forward to serving the diverse residents of this exploding community.”

In May of 2015, Thoa Nguyen, chef/restaurateur of Chinoise, competed on the Food Network program, “Beat Bobby Flay”. She defeated another accomplished chef/restaurateur for the opportunity to compete against Bobby Flay with her signature Ahi Poke Bibimbap, a Korean rice bowl dish.
